Thyroid Gland:
Thyroid gland is the largest gland in the neck and make thyroid hormones,which regulates the body "metabolism"(the chemical processes that occur within a living organism in order to maintain life).It produces two main hormones Triiodothyronine(T-3) and Thyroxine(T-4).Its help to regulating heart rate and temperature.
Thyroid disease:
This disease are significant in some general types:
1)Hypothyroidism: Means produce too little thyroid hormones.Hypothyroidism can even be associated with pregnancy.
Symptoms of Hypothyroidism:
- having slow heart rate.
- muscle aches
- cold intolerance
- dry skin and nail
- constipation
- fatigue
- gaining weight
Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism:
- rapid heart beat
- light period or skipping period
- weight loss
- anxiety

- non tender swelling around the neck
3)Goiter: An enlarged thyroid gland is a lump can be felt under the skin at the front of the neck.It is called goiter.
Symptoms of Goiter:
- a visible swelling at the base of the neck
