A literary festival also known as a book fair or writer’s carnival is a regular gathering of writer , typically on an annual basis in a particular city. A literary fair usually features a variety of presentations and readings by authors, as well as other events, delivered over a period of several days, with the primary objectives of promoting the authors' books and fostering a love of literature and writing. In Pakistan, Karachi holds its 8 literature festival at Beach Luxury Hotel it was a 3 day festival which started on 5 February 207and end on 7 February 2017 breaking the record by making 2 lac people attending it. The eight Karachi literature held on 10 to 12 February 2017 at the beach luxury hotel.The narration of this festival was done by Ameena sayeed , OBE, managing director of oxford university press (Pakistan). In this festival , different types of discussions,sessions,mushairas was included.Many famous people was attended this festival include Arfa sayeed, Amar jaleel, Fahmida riyaz etc. The main motive of Karachi literature festival is to spread literature culture and importance of books in Pakistani youth.It was a very successful event of Karachi.

According to many people KLF- Karachi Literature Festival is a good platform for all the literature lovers and for those who wants to borrow the fruits of literature. 8th KLF was held at Beach Luxury Hotel for 3 days 10,11,12 of February 2017. The festival was produced and sponsored by Oxford University Press, directed by Ameena Saiyid. It was not only sponsored by Oxford University Press but also by Emirates, Pepsi, UBL and by many big brands of Pakistan. News also said that the ICCR- Indian Council for Cultural Relations also sponsored the program. The director general of ICCR said that " It is the first time ICCR is sponsoring the event, which began in 2010".(The Indian Express) US Consulate also co-sponsored the event. Which means the festival doesn't have only national sponsors but international sponsors also. The season two of domestic twenty(T20) tournament of Pakistan,the PAKISTAN SUPER LEAGUE (PSL) started from 9 February. five teams are selected to play this tournament , as the matches will be played in United Arab Emirates (UAE).The final of the tournament will be held in Lahore.
